Hello! My name is Grace. I just finished my third year at Stonewall Jackson Elementary School. I taught Third Grade reading, writing, and language arts. Before I began teaching, I earned my Master of Education degree from SMU. In 2014, I graduated from SMU with a Bachelors of Arts - majoring in Political Science and minoring in French and Education. While at SMU, I was a Pre-Law Scholar and was active in a number of other honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa. This fall, I will be transition from full-time teacher to full-time student, as I will be going back to school to earn a Master of Counseling degree. That being said, I will have ample time in my schedule to continue privately tutoring. I believe that the purpose of education is to equip students to become curious, inspired learners, motivated to think and learn about the world around them. My approach to tutoring children is the same; it is my desire that I assist them in becoming curious learners. As I believe that reading and writing are the building blocks of academic success, those are the two areas on which I focus the most during my tutoring sessions.
