What is MommyMixer®
MommyMixer® is a boutique service that connects moms with college age household helpers™. It is an exclusive network that allows moms and helpers™ to view profiles of each other online and then meet at the ever famous (and typically sold out) Mixer events.
Does MommyMixer screen potential candidates?
No, MommyMixer does not screen any potential sitter candidates. MommyMixer simply introduces you to sitter candidates, and it is your job to choose who is the right fit for your family. You are responsible for interviewing, checking references and doing any background searches you deem necessary.
Why does MommyMixer® call their candidates Household Helpers™?
These candidates are WAY more than just babysitters. They have many talents to share and can help with tutoring, driving, coaching, organizing, running errands, planning, etc. Our candidates are educated (must be in college or a recent grad unless previously approved) and can help moms in all areas of managing their home.
What are the new MommyMixer® online features?
MommyMixer® has grown up and is now bringing the mixers to you. Parents and household helpers™ can view each others profiles online anytime. Parents no longer have to wait for a mixer to find a helper and sitters no longer have to wait to find a gig. Parents and helpers rate each other making sure no one is disappointed (like we have all experienced)!
Why MommyMixer®?
MommyMixer® is entrenched in colleges across the country. The network features thousands of fabulous, educated helpers that moms enjoy having in their home. MommyMixer® will do back-flips to find you the help of your dreams. And, if they can't, they will happily refund your fee. The college students know that MommyMixer® means access to the fantastic moms out there. Moms they want to work for, hang out with.. moms they want to be like when they grown up!
What are the fees associated with MommyMixer®?
MommyMixer® charges parents $30 per month for access to the website. $5 of that monthly fee will go directly to The Miracle Foundation. MommyMixer® charges sitters $5 per month to be profiled on the website. $1 of that fee per month will go to The Miracle Foundation.
What if I want out of my membership?
That is great, fine, totally cool... just let us know. You may cancel your subscription via paypal at anytime. Please note that once you cancel your subscription you will no longer have access to the sitters contact info. We also suggest that you cancel right before your next recurring payment comes out, so you can utilize the monthly membership to the fullest. Please email us if any problems info@mommymixer.com.
How did MommyMixer® chose The Miracle Foundation?

How is my credit card billed?
Your billing date will be the date that you opened your account. monthly. If you need to cancel your account, please make sure to give us 20 days notice.
What is your refund policy?
MommyMixer® exists only to HELP moms and sitters alike. MommyMixer® will do back-flips to help find you the right help for your family or the right job for sitters! If for some crazy reason, you are unsatisfied with your experience, please let us know.
Can I share The Babysitter Book™ with my friend?
No way, José! You may not share your password to our network, The Babysitter Book™ or any of sitter information to any non members. This is not only a legitimate business concern for us, but more importantly, it is a privacy issue for the candidates in the network. If you love our services, then please tell your friends join. If you chose to be dishonest and share sitters with non members, we will find out via our sitters and you will be promptly expelled from our network and never allowed to return to MommyMixer's® babysitter bliss again.
Where do you find the babysitter candidates?
On the great sitter tree. Just kidding. MommyMixer® primarily recruits candidates from local universities and relies on word of mouth around campus. We hire campus representatives in each location to help us with our campus recruiting; this includes targeting alumni who may want to babysit after graduating.
What if I need a full-time nanny?
Hmm…MommyMixer® focuses on part-time and occasional babysitters. Remember, the majority of our candidates are students, so they will be working around their class schedule. If you are lucky, you might be able to find a student waiting to go to grad school or get a "real" job. Go ahead and give us a shot, if anything, you will have access to the best list of sitters in town!
What if I don't find any babysitters who are a good fit at the MommyMixer®?
While we can't think of any situation where this has actually happened, we're willing to be open-minded. If you don't find anyone, contact your area city manager, and we will do our best to locate more candidates interested in working for your family. At the very minimum, you will have received The Babysitter Book™ full of potential babysitting candidates; after all, everyone needs an occasional sitter every now and then.
What if I am looking for help a few months down the road?
You might want to wait until you are no longer than three weeks away from actually using the candidates. Remember, most of our candidates are college students looking for immediate hire.
Are babysitter candidates willing to commit to long-term jobs?
Most of our babysitter candidates are college students, and their schedules will change with each new semester. However, if you are flexible, you love your sitter, and she loves you, she will most likely be willing to continue working for your family through each semester. We often see families with sitters that work part-time during the school season and take on more work for the summer as a more full-time job.
How far are babysitter candidates willing to drive?
Drive time is up to each individual sitter. We suggest making a long drive worth their while - i.e. gas money or paying them for drive time.
What are candidates' hourly rates?
That is up to you and your sitter. MommyMixer® does not negotiate pay rates, nor does MommyMixer® take a percentage of candidates' wages. We tell moms that a reasonable hourly rate for college students is $10 an hour. However, this number is dependent upon how many children you have and other household chores you would like help with.
Can I just show up to the Mixer if I have not registered beforehand?
Sorry, Charlie. There is typically a waitlist for every Mixer. Because space is limited, we require all moms to RSVP In advance. If are you are trying to RSVP at the last minute, please email us and we will let you know if there is availability. Subscribing members are always given first priority to every mixer.
What if I need to cancel my attendance at a MommyMixer®?
That is just fine, but please let us know so we can get someone to fill your slot from our waitlist. All cancellations will result in a $25 processeing fee. After cancellation, your registration fee will typically be refunded within one week.

Why are you charging sitters $5 per month?
Well, you need to have skin in the game too. MommyMixer® wants to be 100% sure that you are really wanting to work for these great families. That you will always return their calls, texts and emails even if you are unable to do their job. There is only a limited number of slots for helpers so if you are in our network taking one of those coveted slots, we want to ensure that you are here for the right reasons.
Does MommyMixer® screen the families?
No. MommyMixer® does not screen any sitters or families. MommyMixer® simply introduces you to families, and it is your job to choose who is the right fit for you. You are responsible for interviewing, checking references and doing any background searches you deem necessary.
